The Woodridge Memorial VFW Post 1578 was chartered on November 8, 1983 with 33 original members. Today we are in our 29th year of community service to the people and Village of Woodridge.

Post Meetings

Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Woodridge Community Resource Center, 8274 Janes Avenue, at 7:30 p.m.

Commander Gervais Larry Gervais is serving his fifth elected term as Post Commander. He lives in Downers Grove with his wife, Sue.

Poppy Days
Our Post will be sponsoring the annual Poppy Days sale throughout the village this year on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19. We are in need of volunteers. If you are interested and can spend a couple of hours for this very worthy cause, please call our Post's Hot Line at (630) 910-1578 and leave a message.

Breakfast Club
Post members are invited to join their fellow comrades on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for breakfast at the Sandpiper Restaurant at 8:00 a.m. The next breakfast will be on Tuesday, May 8th at 8:00 a.m.
Memorial Day Parade
Woodridge VFW Post 1578, along with the Lisle/Woodridge Fire Department, will sponsor the annual Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 28th, beginning at 9:00 am.

The VFW invites ALL VETERANS, regardless of branch of service, age, or duty, to join and march along. The parade will line up at Fire Station 2 (75th Street and Woodridge Drive) at 8:30 am and will proceed north on Woodridge Drive, then east on Center Drive to Memo- rial Park. The parade will be silent and solemn. Many Color Guards will be present.
